I was thinking of trying the little program on my laptop which runs Linux just to for the laughs if it works or not. XD Probably not, Wine can't seem to emulate everything anyway...
Be my guest, but don't go out on a limb for my sake. BTW I can't remember the last time I had a Linux box, must be ~6yrs, I'd still have it if it wasn't for the fact that HDD's and me don't get along, but at around the same time I changed to Western Digital and haven't had any failures yet (knock's on wood).

I really don't care, I offered to help but they didn't get back, and not to mention their lousy attitude.
Our setups aren't that different (wait just checked your V/C specs let me stand corrected, you're way in front unless I read the wrong page?) - same cpu except 2.66GHz, Nvidia geforce 8800gts, 4GB RAM (yeah I know that's overkill but they where cheap at the time xD), 500GB HDD/System, 2x1TB HDD/Data, 2x1TB HDD/Backup-Offline (all Western Digital, did I mention I'm on good terms with WD :-p however still slightly paranoid)

I'm usually on the IRC often one way or another, but I don't know of any particular good way to really keep up-to-date with the releases besides manually adding in the changes when needed or something.
About that, you may not have realized but I intentionally disable editing on all columns except for two (Collection/Comments), the reason is simple, the program detects changes in all columns on E-D's webpage, therefore even if you manually loaded the database into say MS-Access and modified the protected columns my program will revert those changes made manually back to the version used online when you perform an update. Your only option would be to use the comment field to make a note (Swooosh, shot down again lol, sorry). On the other hand adding new titles isn't a problem, however you'd have to be an esper to know the exact wording E-D would be using when they eventually added it to the encodes.html or you'll end up with two similar rows. I'm sure you would have figured all that out by yourself eventually, so sorry for the drawn out explanation.
Anyway it's not like this program was meant for stock market updates. It would have been nice to cater for other peoples needs but I personally only check for updates every 2-4 weeks, so you addicts that need a quick-fix of wholesome anime will just need to stay locked-in on irc.
